JOB PURPOSE:
The management of the technical and building services to provide a comprehensive and professional technical service to the clients and staff of OVO Arena Wembley in line with agreed budgets, ASM company policy and all appropriate Health and Safety Legislation. In partnership with the Technical Director responsible for implementing the company Health and Safety policy throughout the Dept. Overall responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of all plant and other key equipment within the venue as well as the IT, electrical and fire safety systems. To assist in the delivery of our events in a professional, safe and timely manner. Liaising with clients, other depts, contractors and event personnel as required from conception to the final delivery of events.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure that the technical operation of the Arena is carried out in line with licensing requirements, health and safety regulations and safe working practices as detailed by current legislation and the company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures.
- Ensure that the day-to-day operational requirements and maintenance of all facilities within the Arena are to a high standard, including the regular inspection and maintenance of key equipment within the Arena
- Take the lead in implementing and maintaining the Health and Safety policy for the department liaising across all departments, as laid out in the venue’s Health and Safety policy document.
- Provide expert technical advice and information to clients, external agencies and internal departments as required.
- In conjunction with the IT department and the Technical Director, provide IT support for the venue. Trouble shoot any issues with WiFi, telephone and network provision on events and look to provide additional functionality where time and budget allows.
- Monitor and appraise the work practices of appointed contractors to ensure that work is carried out safely, in line with relevant legislation and to a high standard.
- Take the lead in ensuring that the electrical condition of the venue is up to the standard expected of an Arena. This would include ensuring that annual electrical inspections are carried out and that any faults are rectified were applicable in a timely fashion.
- Project manage major repair and capital expenditure works as appropriate and devise and oversee projects as required.
- Produce a monthly report of outstanding building faults and ongoing work, detailing the work needed, approximate costs and the responsibility for carrying out the work needed.
- Appraise existing work procedures and practices to improve performance and reduce costs, producing reports and information in line with agreed timescales.
- Champion and provide the highest levels of customer service within the technical department.
- In conjunction with the Technical Manger Events ensure that all technical information relating to the show in question, including but not limited to the seating layout, rigging plot and additional technical requirements are communicated speedily and accurately in a way that ensures that the information is clearly received and easily understood both by other departments and clients.
- Carry out Duty Technical Manager responsibilities as and when required.
- Undertake any other relevant duties which fall under the general scope of this role, as directed by your manager.
