Role:
We are looking for an experienced data modeller able to develop and maintain detailed logical and physical data models using UML class notation.
The Enterprise Data Model (EDM) holds the detailed definitions of, and relationships between business concepts (. Vendor, Customer). This fully attributed class model supports business rule definitions, physical data model mapping, and much more.
Responsibilities:
The lead data modeller is accountable for:
- the content of the Enterprise Data Model (EDM);
- the format of EDM presentation artefacts (diagrams, reports, etc.);
- the data modelling standards and guidelines used in the development and upkeep of the EDM;
- the procedures for maintaining and publishing the EDM content;
- directing and mentoring subordinate data modellers.
Qualifications:
The candidate must:
- have extensive experience with UML class models, including navigable associations, generalisation sets, association roles;
- have extensive experience with UML state machines;
- have experience of designing RESTful API models using XSDs or JSON schemas;
- be able to relate platform specific models to a platform independent model;
- be able to relate a platform independent model to the EDM;
- have developed data models for the following concepts:
- Organisation
- Person
- Supplier/Vendor
- Customer
- have extensive experience using Sparx Enterprise Architect, or similar UML tool
