Our Control Team have an exciting new vacancy, we are on the hunt for an Information Controller to report into the Duty Control Manager. If you have experience working in the Railway within an operational capacity and have always been interested in the Control space, then this is the role for you.
As the Information Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating passenger assistance for both pre-booked and 'turn up and go' customers wishing to travel on any service. A top priority of this role is to assist any potentially vulnerable customers on the network.
You will be tasked with monitoring train service provision, pro-actively disseminating real time train running information to customers, ensuring that all updates, including delays and cancellations are communicated effectively.
Maintain a comprehensive log of occurrences and incidents in the Control Log, working closely with Controllers to ensure that the documents are produced to the highest standard and as error free as possible.
Monitorisation of CCTV Images will also be one of your responsibilities, paying close attention to crowd levels working closely with the British Transport Police and other key stakeholders.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that all accident and incident reports received are processed, logged and that suitable managers are notified to perform chain of care and act as the investigating officer.
Qualifications:
Experience working in a railway operations setting which includes (but isn't limited to) Train Crew, Stations Staff or Operational Customer Service background.
Knowledge of the ARL and Network Rail route geography would be ideal but not essential, as well as an understanding of the workings of control systems and interpretation of train running information.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence others and work effectively under pressure, whilst also having strong communication skills.
Basic IT knowledge and Computer Literacy is essential.
