The Global Medical Collaboration Leader (GMCL) is a global field-based medical role working across countries and affiliates to accelerate the development and delivery of medicines to patients through effective medical customer engagement in the development phase of the life cycle. Establishing partnerships with key external stakeholders and collaborating with global and affiliate cross-functional partners, the GMCL provides insights to inform and shape the global and local medical strategy and contributes to build early internal capabilities to enhance the launch readiness in the assigned countries.
There are 5 major responsibilities in this role:
1 Develops and facilitates relationships and collaborative networks with external stakeholders ensuring Roche is the preferred partner
Establishes and maintains scientific collaborations and engagements with key external stakeholders (including patient organizations, scientific societies, academia, policy and access stakeholders)
Identifies and progresses key opportunities for increased collaboration and cooperation and overcomes barriers to facilitate collaborations between customers and the organization
Executes activities with customer centricity as a core principle
2 Engages and educates Investigators and site staff to enable and expedite successful delivery of clinical development programs
Drives scientific engagement with clinical trial sites
Works closely with global and affiliate Clinical Operations and Clinical Science to ensure appropriate and efficient alignment, coordination and communication
Suggests innovative approaches to trial design, recruitment, retention and data collection based on customers' insights
Gathers investigator feedback and insights to optimize clinical development performance and customer experience
Discusses and supports IIS, compassionate use programmes and data strategies that support access activities (until release of pivotal data)
3 Provides real-time insights and ground level understanding of the disease area landscape across countries to better inform cross-functional strategies
Executes insights gathering activities to address knowledge gaps (including advisory boards, steering committees, etc)
Maps and profiles customers and builds engagement plans aligned with their needs
Ensures the customer perspective is incorporated in strategic and tactical decisions
Builds a comprehensive understanding of the local environment
4 Partners with global cross-functional colleagues and affiliates to enhance launch readiness in assigned countries
Accelerates affiliate(s) understanding of the disease area ecosystem
Supports understanding and alignment with the global strategy to drive effective affiliate planning and decision making
Acts as disease area champion and advocate in the assigned affiliates
Delivers a seamless transition when the affiliate is ready to take in the TA program
5 Contributes to the high performance and innovation of the GMCL team/ function to optimise customer experience and to evolve to meet the needs of the organisation
Ensures efficient collaboration with the team mates to capitalise on best practices
Maintains the highest standards and level of scientific expertise in the team
Gives feedback on and contributes to team/function specific working practices, standards and innovation
Who are you
Master Degree in Sciences (or related field) is a must, postgraduate Degree (PhD, PharmD, MSc, MD, MBA) highly desirable
Strong (at least 5 years) established experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry at global/affiliate level
Experience (at least 2 years) in a global or local medical/scientific field customer facing role
Experience in Medical Affairs, Product Development or Early Development is essential, as is understanding and experience of GCP and GVP
Track record of scientific collaborations with external experts and/or collaborative groups
Fluency in Written and Spoken English and Mandarin Chinese are a must
Demonstrated Respiratory Diseases experience & expertise is a plus
Fluency in Cantonese is a plus
Preferably located in or nearby Shanghai
The territory coverage for this role will include China as well as Hong Kong, Taiwan and potentially other nearby countries.
