In the field of System Engineering we are looking for the Head of System Mechanical Disciplines who will have to manage and coordinate a group of engineers who will significantly contribute to obtaining results in the growing business of developing new launch and transport systems orbital and in preparation for flight missions.
He will also be called upon to promote the professional growth and skills of the group by promoting the improvement of simulation and prediction skills in the mechanical, thermal and fluid dynamics fields.
In particular, the Head of System Mechanical Disciplines:
- Guarantees the result of simulations and budgets by supervising the activities related to the following disciplines:
- Low frequency dynamics
- Random and vibroacoustics
- Shock
- General loads
- Thermal
- Ventilation, contamination and venting
- Aerodynamics
- Aerothermal
- the aeroacoustics
- Oversees the Mechanical Disciplines by designing, defining and guaranteeing the maintenance of simulation tools and system budgets;
- Defines and manages the functional requirements of the mechanical subsystems including structures, thermal protections and umbilicals starting from the high-level requirements, providing appropriate justification and ensuring consistency in the flow down;
- Defines and manages the requirements of the general specifications of the mechanical discipline giving appropriate justification;
- Defines the thermo-mechanical environment for the satellite, justifying it and ensuring the verification during the mission through coupled analyzes (CLA);
- Examine the Exchange Proposals for mechanical system aspects;
- Examine the RFW/RFD/NCR/FA inherent in the thermo-mechanical environment of all subsystems (mechanical, avionics and propulsion);
- Participate in S/S reviews;
- Defines the requirements of the system mechanical tests, guarantees their correct execution and, through the verification of the results, guarantees the fulfillment of the high-level requirements
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, >12 years of experience, with previous systems engineering experience on complex space systems in the ESA area
- Design experience in the mechanical/thermal/fluid dynamics field
- Testing experience in the mechanical/thermal/fluid dynamics field
- Knowledge of the main processes of System Engineering
- Knowledge of ECSS and main standards in the mechanical/thermal/fluid dynamics field
- Knowledge of the European spatial context
- Excellent knowledge of English and French
Aptitude Requirements
- Experience in managing a group;
- Capacity for synthesis and multidisciplinary vision;
- Goal orientation;
- Decision-making autonomy and initiative;
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and industry advances;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
